Your cosy holiday home in the heart of the Vosges, Alsace, France.

Villa Marguerite is a solid Vosges house in Hohrodberg, a small village in the High Vosges at about 800 m above sea level, built in the late 1920s and lovingly renovated. The house has a panoramic view south over the Munster valley and the Vosges – on a clear day you can see east as far as the Black Forest and the Swiss Alps.
A balcony (ground floor only) and a large garden with a fire pit are perfect for relaxing and barbecues. The house is in a quiet spot, surrounded by meadows and pastures. Well-marked hiking trails lead straight from the house into the mountains – in winter, cross-country ski trails are a short drive away.

Hohrodberg is ideally placed in the Vosges mountains of Alsace, France
Hohrodberg is a picturesque mountain village in Alsace with panoramic views south over the Munster valley and the Vosges mountains, and east towards the Black Forest — when the weather is right, you can sometimes even see the peaks of the Swiss Alps. At around 800 metres, it offers the perfect mix of mountain peace and quiet and easy access to the sights of the region.
The area is a paradise for nature lovers, with hiking trails in summer and cross-country ski trails in winter. The villages nearby show the best of Alsatian culture, food and wine.
The ferme-auberges (farm inns) of the Vosges serve hearty mountain food — roïgabrageldi (roast potatoes with bacon and Munster cheese), Munster cheese and bilberry tart. Down in the valley, Munster and Soultzeren have cosy winstubs serving Alsatian classics. You’ll find tarte flambée almost everywhere, best fresh from the wood-fired oven.

How to find us in Hohrodberg
Via Munster to Hohrod, then on to Hohrodberg (about 6 km uphill).
From Colmar: drive through Munster, then turn right to Hohrod.
From Gérardmer: via Soultzeren, then turn left to Hohrod before Munster.
Sat-nav tip: enter Munster as your destination first — otherwise the sat nav sends you over rough mountain roads. That can be lovely in summer, but in winter they may even be closed.
There are no shops in Hohrodberg. It’s best to do your shopping on the way, in Munster — at the many traditional bakeries, cake shops and other small specialist shops, or at the supermarkets.
